Mission to Kenya...
Chinue Ministries

Just a quick update and let you know how faithful our God is.

Hey!

I have been praying for a house to rent and a car. I despertly need both. Well, I found a house to rent and am still negoiating with the owner. He jacked up the price to double when he found out that an American was wanting to rent it. Kenyans believe that all Americans are very rich. Ha! And, a pastor that I just met through a friend, has a car I could buy. It's only $1,500.00. It's old but would do for me just running around town and going to see the kids that are on my "Sponsor a Child" program that I am in charge of. I am praying for the money to get both the house, car and house furnishings. I have to buy EVERYTHING for the house. There is no one here to give me a "house warming shower" so I have to start from scratch. Well, enough of that, here is some more news. God never closes a door without opening a window.

The house that I wanted to live in that I helped buy the land and build a large house on it in 1997, is unavailable now.  So I have to get another place to live. God told me to not try to do anything about it and to let it go. I did and did it with peace in my heart knowing God will take care of me and knows I need a place to live. See Matthew 6.

See, my dream is to have a facility large enough to live in and be able to host mission teams and people to come and help here and have a really nice place to stay. The pastor that I met, with the car for sale, is also the one who knew about the house for rent and while we were in route to see the house, he asked me what my dream was while I was here in Kenya. What did I want to do? I told him about the facility and wanting to host mission teams in. After we looked at the house for rent, we went to his home to meet his wife. Then he handed me some large papers. I said, "what's this"? He said just look. I opened the papers and it was some blue prints of a large facility with a beautiful veranda on the front, 8 bed rooms and 8 bathrooms, kitchen and laundry facilities on 9 acres. I was dumbfounded! I was looking at my dream! When I finally got my voice back, I said this is the dream I just told you about. He said I know. He said he has the same dream and is in the final process of buying the land and should start the building in a couple of months and would need someone to manage the place for him! It was a divine connection! God is at work in Kenya.

This Pastor "Sammy" was a street boy until the age of 13, when he met a white man from the UK that told him he would pay his school fees and buy his clothes and his first pair of shoes, if he would go to school. He did and now is doing the same for many children here.

He has an orphanage and a boarding school, church, mechanic garage, building a restaurant and curio shop, and more.  He asked me to preach at his church and I did this morning and got to look at all his facilities. I really like this pastor and his wife Millie. We have already formed a bond and know we have a future together.

God is so good! Please pray for the man who has the house for rent to be fair about the price. I really like the house and it is very close to Sammy and Millie, but I have given it to God.

Pray for me to get more sponsors and money for the car and house furnishings. Well, this is enough for now. I will keep you posted about the rental house.  Let me know how everything is there and give everyone my love. Keep praying for me and I pray for you also.

I Have Great News!

Hey Everyone!

I have great news!  I was just told that I now have a Pay Pal button on my website!  This will make it very easy to make a donation or become a monthly partner with me.  I have been praying about my situation.  I told God, "all I need is for 100 people to give $20.00 one time and I would have enough for my trip and tuition to Mozambique.  Or, 200 people to give $10.00".  He said, "Tell them".  So that's what I'm doing.  My money is supposed to be turned in by May 12th.  That's Monday!  I'm praying if God has touched your heart to help that you won't put it off and just do it.  If you can't afford $10 or $20 then ask someone to split it with you.  It adds up.  If you are already giving, thank you and know that in the future, you can also use the Pay Pal on my website if you choose to.  Please feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone you wish.

Another thing...I need to sell my car right away.  It's a sweet 1997 BMW Z-3. Electric Blue w/black top. The top was just replaces last fall. It has the larger motor, 2.8. The car only has 91, 000 miles on it.  You know that for a BMW, it's not hardly broken in yet.  Only 2 owners.  One other lady and myself.  I was asking $10,500 for it but have now come down to $9,000!  Let me know if you are interested and let others know too.  Pass the word.

OK, I'm praying.  God bless you and keep me in your prayers.
Forever His servant and yours,

If you were planning to donate...NOW is the time!!!

Hey All,

I'm booking my plane ticket in a day or two and planning to leave the 29th or 30th of THIS MONTH!!!  I can't believe it.  If you were planning to make a donation or becoming a monthly partner, NOW is the time.  I have to have my money turned in by the 12th of May.  Today is the 7th by the way. Ha, just to let you know that there isn't much time.  I am going to a long-term missionary training school in Mozambique first, then to Kenya.  I was invited by Heidi Baker herself to attend this training.  I'm sure it won't hurt me, since I've only done short-term mission work.  I met Heidi Baker last month in Mobile, AL at a conference.  Heidi's ministry is Iris Ministeries and have 6000 churches all over Africa and is best know for her work with the orphans  and building orphanages in Africa.  She is called the "Mother Teresa" of Africa.  She has several books and the one that I read first is "Always Enough".  I feel honored to have met her and have her invite me to her Mission Training School in Mozambique.  OK, here goes.  I need $2,200.00 that needs to be turned in by the 12th. I still need  2 injections, $100.00 for both, money for my visa ($70.00), money for hotel room while in transit, it takes about 2 1/2 days travel and you have to stay overnight and need hotel room; food; digital camera; money for drinking water ($50.00 per month).  There are immediate needs.  I will have to have my personal items shipped over when I get out of school on the 4th of August after I go to Kenya where I plan to stay permantly, but that's later.  Mission school starts June 2nd -Aug. 4th.  I am also mentoring a young lady who is called to missions and will be going to Mozambique with me.  She has never traveled before over seas.  So please keep us both in your prayers.  Her name is Lori Quintero who I met at my home group here in Huntsville.  I know what God has called me to do, and I am going to do it, but I have to admit, it's really pushing my faith to book a ticket and go without enough donations and sponsors to support me while I'm there.  I am praying for the hearts of those that are called to help me take the Gospel of Christ to the nations.  Please pray and ask God if you are suppose to send this missionary to the mission field.  If He says, "yes", please respond now, and don't put it off.  No gift is too small, it adds up, and no gift is too large, I'll put it to good use and it is needed.  Until I get my pay pal working on this site, Please contact me and let me know and I will let you know how to get it to me.
Remember that the fields are white for harvest and that the laborers are few.  Here I am! Send Me!

Finally! Africa or Bust! I leave the end of May!

Praise God!  I'm finally leaving for Africa!  I will be there by the end of this month!!!  There have been times I have wondered if it would really happen.  But, I just believed God anyway and that He would make the way for what I knew He had called me to do.  He is faithful and will finish His work that He has started.  There is still a lot that needs to done before the end of the month just to get me there. I will fill you in later about the details and what I'm doing in my next entry.  You will be blown away with the miracles!  Check back!  I want to fill you in, but I am limited for time right now and I want take some time to write this.  Blogging and journaling is all new to me.  I'm just learning how to do this blogging thing. So, have a good laugh while I learn!  I want to thank Dennis Weaver in Indiana from Gospel Fellowship Church in KY  for my website.  What a blessing!  This is his contribution to help me be able to communicate with everyone.  He is still working on the site.  It's not finished yet.  So, keep checking back for my updates. Details in a little while.  Much love in Jesus to you all, Teresa June

It took me three tries but here's the first entry...

This is the first entry in the "Web Log" or "blog" for Teresa June's mission to Kenya, Africa.  My name is Dennis and I am helping Teresa find her way through this software.  However, I must admit that I too am a little new to this particular venue and we will learn it together.

For now, Teresa June, I offer my prayers and what little experience I can bring to your new site.  I pray that it will help you share your experience with many, inspire some, and be a blessing to all.

God's Peace be with you,
Dennis
